Liberacki-Wilcox-Berg Genealogy

Because it included the names of living individuals, I closed the original website that I maintained online. In July 2021, I began this new website. Because the transition to the new website is just beginning, it is currently pretty sparse. Family members who want more details or print outs that include the names of living relatives should contact me at steve@stevenlberg.info. I am also willing to provide copies of my research materials—sans the names of living individuals—with other genealogists who share branches on the family tree.

Because both of my parents are deceased, I am going to begin the website with myself and then build back. I will be the only living person mentioned. As with the original website, the new website includes biographical sketches, photographs, artifacts/documents, transcriptions of letters, and my research notes. Although I will continue to maintain all of the family branches in Family Tree Maker, I am going to focus on my own pedigree as I begin to transfer profiles from the old to the new website.

Names in Genealogy

With few exceptions, I will use birth name in all references to an individual regardless of the name they used at the time an artifact was created or an event took place. For example, my grandmother Rachel Wilcox Liberacki will always be referred to as Rachel Wilcox. Although I anticipate that this editorial decision might initially lead to some confusion, I am aware that the inconsistent use of names leads to its own brand of confusion. To help cut down on the confusion, the index of profiles will cross reference individuals by married names, maiden names, nicknames, and so forth. For example, my grandmother will be indexed as Rachel Olive Wilcox and Rachel Olive Liberacki.

Work in Progress

The Liberacki-Wilcox-Berg Genealogy is not a finished project. In fact, it is the type of project that can never be finished. It can only be expanded. In order to manage the material, there are times that I will upload incomplete pages or profiles. If you come across such a page and want me to make it a priority to finish, please send me an e-mail.
