Samuel Williams was born in Canada during September 1840. He emigrated to the United States in either 1865 or 1866.1

On 25 August 1866, he married Sarah Stanton. The marriage took place in Bay City, Michigan. By 1880, he was a farmer living with his family in Sigel Township which is located in Huron county, Michigan. Samuel was able to read, write, and speak English.

Samuel died in Sigel on 4 September 1919.

1The 1900 census lists 1866 as the year of immigration while the 1910 census lists the year as 1865.
