Augusta Strumer
(1853- )

Augusta Strumer is Seth Stankowski's second great grandmother.

Augusta Strumer was born in Germany during July 1853. She married August Wendler in 1879.

In April 1885, she departed from Stettin and departed from Germany on the Martha, a ship she boarded in Brandenburg. Augusta arrived at the Port of New York on 20 April 1885. According the ship's manifest, her destination was Wisconsin. Specifically, the family settled in Wittenberg.

According to the 1900 census, Augusta had given birth to twelve children; nine of whom were still living. However, the 1910 census reports that all nine of the children to whom she had given birth were living.

By 1900, Augusta was able to read. write, and speak English. And in 1906, she became a naturalized citizen.

Augusta was still living in Wittenberg in 1920; the last date for which we have records for her.
