John Albert Liesch
(1882-1964)

John Albert Liesch is Seth Stankowski's great grandfather.

John Albert Liesch was born in Morris, Wisconsin on 6 June 1882.

On 1 July 1909, George married Emma Helena Wendler in Wittenberg, Wisconsin. By 1910, the couple was living in Crandon, Wisconsin. According to the 1910 census,John's brother Edward and a border named Grace E. McKay shared their home. In 1910, he was working as a laborer in a lumber mill.

On 6 June 1919, John registered for the draft.

By 1920, he had returned to Wittenberg where he owned his own farm. He worked the rest of his life as a farmer.

John died on 28 January 1964 in Birnamwood, Wisconsin where he was living at Cady Memorial Nursing Home. His funeral was held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on 31 January 1964 with the Reverend Markus Berndt officiating. He was buried in Forest Home Cemetery.
