Elijah Hyde was born in Lebanon, Connecticut in 1705. On 12 November 1730, he married Ruth Tracy. The wedding took place in Norwich, Connecticut.
From 1730 to 1742, Elijah and Ruth lived in Norwich. In 1742, they moved to Lebanon.
Six months after Ruth's death in 1773, Elijah married the widow Mercy Coleman on 3 May 1774.
Mercy died on 3 August 1783. Elijah died seven days later on August 10. He was buried in Trumbull Cemetery in Lebanon.
