Mary Rosene Ettl was born on 16 November 1918 in Lakota, North Dakota. She graduated from Lakota High School about 1936.

The 1940 census lists Mary as living in Devils Lake, North Dakota. She was working as a servant and living in the home of Mark and Maggie Van Osdel. The same year, the Grand Rapids City Directory indicates that she was living at 1120 Breton Road, SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was working as a maid. In 1942, Mary and her sister Josephine were living at 225 Ransom Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Both were working as waitresses.

On 18 July 1942, Mary married John Liberacki. A few months later, John joined the army.

Mary and John settled in Unionville, Michigan where Mary worked as a house wife. Their home was across the street from St. Joseph Catholic Church. Each Sunday after mass, Liberacki relatives would squeeze into Mary's kitchen to enjoy home made sweet rolls. Mary was also known for her wonderful chocolate chip cookies. Mary's hobby was cross stitching.

On 27 August 1998, Mary died in the home of her daughter Sally. The cause of death of lung cancer. Mary's funeral took place on 30 August 1998 at Unionville Funeral Chapel; Fr. George Serour officiating. She was buried in St. Joseph Cemetery.
