The Wilcox Family
Emigrates from England
"William Wilcox,1 or as the family name was written at that time, Wilcoxson, and his wife, Margaret, came with their son John to America (according to Hotten's list of immigration) in April, 1635, aboard the ship, 'Planter,' bearing a certificate from the minister of St. Alban's, in Hertfordshire, England, although the family is said to be originally of Welch extraction. In the certificate their ages are given as follows: William Wilcoxson (linen weaver) aged 34; Margaret Wilcoxson, aged 24; Jno., aged 2."
