Biographical Sketch of
Sir John Throckmorton

Sir John Throckmorton,1 Knt. descended from John de Throckmorton, (who, according to Sir William Dugdala, was lord of the manor of Throckmorton about sixty years after the Conquest,) was a very eminent personage in the reigns of Henry V. and Henry VI., and in the latter bore the title of under-treasurer of England. Sir John m. Eleancr dau. and co-heiress of Sir Guy de Spineto, Lord of Coughtvn, co. Warwick; and dying In 1445.
